OVERVIEW

AWOL: Art WithOut Limits launched in 2008, featuring international, national and regional artists and collectives manifesting site-specific temporary projects outside the confines of the gallery walls with accompanying artistic residencies. Past programs include social practice projects, public sculpture, multi-disciplinary performances, and happenings across a wide range of venues. Creating community through shared experiences with art is a guiding goal of this program.

With the opening of the Ent Center for the Arts in January, 2018, AWOL launches a new and significant phase on the grounds and in the interior spaces of this dynamic, 92,000 square foot multi-venue arts center on the UCCS north campus. In keeping with the parameters of the AWOL program, artworks will be non-permanent and in place for time periods spanning from 6 months to two years.

Significant funding has been generously provided for the new program by the Bee Vradenburg Foundation for the Arts and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation to cover associated costs.
