Since 2018, Caitlin Lowans has served the artistic director of Theatreworks, the professional theatre company in residence at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In this role, Lowans has forged a shared vision amongst theatre stakeholders, bringing together different perspectives, political ideologies, and backgrounds to ensure the artistic work shines light on the diverse communities of Colorado Springs. In addition, Caitlin serves as a board member with IDEA Stages – a Colorado-based organization for equity and inclusion in the arts – and a commissioner on the City of Colorado Springs’ Public Art Commission, evaluating and advocating for matters of public art and culture
